"Slaves and Slaveholders of Wessyngton Plantation," a traveling exhibit is on view at the Morton Museum of Collierville History. The Tennessee State Museum brings the story of slavery to Collierville in an up close and personal way. It tells the stories of slaveowners and enslaved African-Americans who lived on the Wessyngton Plantation in Robertson County. The exhibit, which opened on January 8, is the result of John F. Baker, Jr.'s quest to learn about his slave ancestors. Baker is the author of a book entitled, "The Washingtons of Wessyngton Plantation."
