After hosting kids from the Destiny Africa Children's Choir in the fall of 2009, our family decided to visit the their orphanage in summer of 2010. Some generous donations allowed us to make this trip happen and be a complete success.

The Kampala Children's Centre (KCC) is located in Wakiso Town, about 10-15 miles outside of the capital city of Kampala, Uganda. The center supports about 100 children at the orphanage and another roughly 100 kids in town with support for school fees and food. They have built a primary school and a carpentry center on the grounds and intend to develop strong morals through Christianity and teach career skills such as farming, carpentry, sewing, music and worship leading, information technology and computers. The intent is to develop strong leaders for a better future for Uganda. They are also working towards being self-sustaining.

Tina and Matt taught biology, math, physics and general science, guitar and worship leading, computers and information technology. Sierra and Josiah taught violin, having several years of Suzuki classes under their belts.

We spent a total of three weeks at KCC and feel blessed to have served. We have received much more than we gave. While there but a short time, we feel that our skills were put to good use and that what we began will be sustained after our departure.

Special thanks to Mark and Julie Le Doux for their generous donation and prayer support which helped to make this trip possible.

Thanks to our Church for providing donations to KCC and prayers to sustain us in this endeavor.
