On August 11th 2007, Anneli and I were wed in a tiny and very old church on a small island called Norderö. The island lies in the Great Lake, Storsjön county Jämtland, Sweden. I just had to have some super 8 shot at my wedding. I chose Wittnerchrome 100D for its beauty, practicality and harmony with the stills films stock being used for our photos. I shot one roll on the way to the church in that lovely 1961 Ford Taunus. My brother in law kindly shot the second roll, and he did a pretty good job considering it was the first time he’d held a super 8 camera in his life! A pretty hefty camera for a first timer too – a Canon 1014xl-s. Unfortunately the speed switch was knocked to 18fps so the second half is shot at this frame rate. This wasn’t a problem as I was able to get the speed difference corrected during the transfer which was done to DigiBeta on a Rank Cinetel at BBC television centre. I’m hoping that vimeo give a closer representation of that transfer.
