Made in conjunction with Film London and the BFI, 'I Used to be Famous' is a bold and moving culture clash between a failed singer from a late nineties boyband and a musically talented young man with autism. Two outsiders who transform each others world’s through the power of music.
'I Used to be Famous' follows Vince Denman - a former pop star, (now has-been), relentlessly trying to forge a comeback. Day in, day out he roams the streets of Peckham trying to sell his CD of unfinished songs to anyone and everyone. After hitting rock bottom, he meets Stevie, a young man with a great ear for rhythm. Stevie helps show Vince the power and beauty of true music for the first time. From this one meeting, both Vince and Stevie’s lives are changed forever.
