In 2014, the 11th largest city in the nation made history. For the first time in more than a century, Austin reinvented its government…scrapping an at-large voting system some called racist and ushered in a new era. The single member district process, that most all other major cities embrace, was brand new to Austin. Putting it in place changed everything from the power brokers to the playbook at Austin City Hall.
