This video was recently purchased by Glamour Bar (the bar connected to M on the Bund on Shanghai's historic riverfront) for permanent installation, which is super cool. They wanted to show it on a big 42" monitor, so I obligingly made a high resolution version of the piece, of which I am happy to share this excerpt.
In other Shanghai Traces news, it was announced on Sept. 20, 2010 that my video was shortlisted for YouTube Play, the Guggenheim's Biennial of Creative Video. 125 videos out of 23,000 made the shortlist, so I'm pretty stoked about that. Check out youtube.com/play
Shanghai Traces has also been exhibited as part of my solo show The Point of Departure at the True Color Museum in Suzhou and the Collision 16 (collisioncollective.org/show/collision16) show at the Axiom Center for New and Experimental Media (axiomart.org/) in Boston. It will be exhibited at e4c (4culture.org/e4c/) in Seattle in spring 2011.
