To Travel - a verb that transcends the meaning of going from one place to the other when applied to urban voice of Beto Ritchie. The musician that has lived across the world (The U.S., Brasil, China...) and has visited the rest of it brings us a song composed by his brother Fredji Ritchie who completes the power duo called Turtle Giant.
Beto lives in Macau for as long as he can remember, through his teenage years to a more mature adult time, he´s crossed the bridge between pop music with no meaning to soul filling songs with poetry that actually becomes part of a listener because of it´s accurate and closeness to our common lives. But do not be fooled if you think a common life means a life with no importance. On the contrary, our common life is to be understood as being the life that we have together, all of us strangers, with singular and distinct identities, problems, talents and souls. A life that is shared on the bus, the street, shopping malls. A life that is subjected to change by encounters between strangers and very powerful chances that twist and unveil the true power of living, travelling, being.
This is what Beto Ritchie brings us through this song.
One Song Sessions is proud to present the first episode of this Macau Music series, showing you the artist and a particular part of his city, his Macau.
