NATUREALLY Geert Mul 2016 Commissioned work.
MST hospital Enschede.
Laminated Glass, Transparent print, Alternating coloured Led light. 450 x 800 cm,
NATUREALLY is an artwork for the entrance of the MST Hospital. Several artworks were commissioned for the new hospital to contribute to a 'healing environment'. With this in mind, I choose to depict a vast landscape which magically slowly alternates between seasons.
I photographed an iconic, local, 500-year-old oak tree, in two seasons, summer and winter, with and without leaves. The two photographs were merged in a 4 x 8-meter transparent glass wall with a led backlight alternating between colours. Due to the effect of shifting colours, the artwork interchanges between the different seasons hidden in the colours of the transparent print.
