On May 28th, 2009 a double bill performed at the Green Burro in downtown Greensboro as part of the on-going dotmatrix project's evening of free music. First up was the Subterranean Bums who played a set of songs featured on their debut album, "Cloak and Dagger, Voice and Brain."
Carter and Owen are, as their band name suggests equal parts Kerouac and Dylan with perhaps a not too short trip to one of those border towns in a disputed territory between a spitoon and a pinata circa 1890.
Due to an enormous backlog of kitchen sessions and other material this video is very late in posting, but fortunately for the subterranean bums, not so long that they're no longer performing.
Many thanks to our fellow monkeywhalers Vijay Java, Barry Staples, Matty Sheets, Donna Smith, Alex Maness, James Marshall Owen, Patricia Clarkson and Hope Davis.
Carolyn de Berry, the better half of monkeywhale took some great pictures, and unlike me, posted them shortly after the show in May of 2009.
