In July of 2010, a small group of volunteers left Canada headed for a little town in Peru called Aviacion. There goal was to design and build a play space involving the children of this local community.
"It's not so much about what was built, but rather the process we used to build it." The kids would have been happy with anything but what was truly amazing was the empowerment we instilled in those kids. We gave them a voice.
It was truly inspirational to watch the parents watch us listening to their children. What a moment, for them to realize that their children did have something important to say, that their opinions do matter, and that they could contribute to the process in a meaningful way.
Here is some of the footage shot during that trip.
