In 2015 I was artist in residence at two NHS Mental Health Recovery Centres, where I led workshops introducing participants to photo-collage and book works as a means to communicate their recent experiences of mental ill health: piecingittogether.org. Several participants also allowed me to record interviews with them. Based on the real life experiences of one project participant, (performed by actress, Isabel Carr), this work takes the viewer on a journey of self-reflection as our relationship to the unidentified narrator changes through the course of her narrative. The work is about perceptions and preconceptions of otherness.
