Back in middle school Macai and I went to youth group together. I knew her as a fun loving and more quiet kind of girl. After college we didn't really stay in touch, but i started to hear more about Macai and her fiance Luke, as my brother started dating her sister. Apparently my brother had been telling them both that they should have me shoot their wedding ( thanks Connor ) and so eventually they told me they were wanting a wedding video. I reconnected with Macai a few times over the summer through family gatherings and such, & we talked about her day and both got very excited as it got closer.
Getting to shoot with Macai and Luke, I felt an awesome connection with them and their hearts. I really wanted to develop story out this one, the kind of story that Macai's dad talks about in his sermon during the ceremony.
From start to finish, these guys executed a wonderful, yet beautifully simple wedding. They had the ceremony in their home church where the pastor kids, and their pastor dads officiated. It was a really cool thing to witness, two families from the church coming together with an enormous group of supporters. The joy of the lord was in everyone there.
We had a blast of a shooting session, getting to take a few hours to explore downtown rochester ( my stomping grounds of course ) and finished our shoot at silver lake park, where the light was an absolutely perfect overcast to begin with, and then the sun peaked through pretty epically.
Thanks for a very unique and blessed day of shooting, I really enjoyed you guys and am thrilled at what God is doing and will do through your service to Him. Go in his peace, and also enjoy this video!
