This is the first teaser from Legends of Onile! Here's a brief synopsis:
The story focuses on the (ilu) drum warriors and river spirits as they unite to face off against the evil Akala. After a decisive battle, they managed to seal the malevolent force within a great dimensional gate. Drum king Akin, river spirit queen Morayo and her sister Sade, were hailed as great heroes. Under their leadership, the drum warriors and river spirits rebuilt homes and healed the injured people. As time passed, their descendants would unite to reinforce the great seal. However, a small portion of the Akala's power leaked through the gate and blighted a number of river spirits. The unassuming victims found their magic corrupted and were driven mad. Eventually, the people called for the expulsion of the river spirits from Onile. Desperately out of options, the leaders of the river spirits sought help from the river goddess Oshun. The great deity created two crowns. One crown would stay in the world of Onile, under the the care of Morayo's descendants. The second crown, in the hand's of Sade's descendants, would lead the cursed river spirits to another realm, where they'll gradually heal.
The cursed river spirits made their way to our world, Earth. They quickly adapted to their new surroundings by blending in with the general population. Eventually, the curse disappeared from their blood. However, the Akala used the remnants of the blight to assimilate the river spirits' power. Once the evil force properly utilized this new found magic, it managed to break the seal. It would be a time of great despair. But the great goddess, Oshun, foretold of a young descendant of Sade named Dayo. A talented but headstrong river spirit, she will learn the ways of the drum warriors and river spirits from the great elders of Onile. As the years pass, Dayo will utilize her unique powers to save the people from the terror of the Akala. Her adventure will soon begin!
