Originally a part of my production of a play I co-wrote with John Patrick Bray, this is one of two excerpts from "All We Know is All That" which uses mashup to present the ways in which media has shaped our ability to read popular culture. The original production was by the Acadiana Repertory Theatre, in its debut ART after Dark Series. "All We Know is All That" is going to be exhibited in the 2010 20" x 20" x 20" National Compact Competition in the Louisiana State University Student Union Art Gallery, juried by Sara Cochran of the Phoenix Art Museum from November 21 to December 2010.
In particular, this video (1'13" in its entirety) looks at the way 9/11 has shaped American culture and how American culture has forced the ways in which we can read the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001.
It has an original score by Tanner Menard.
