The Day Shall Declare It returns, May 10th 2016.
This version of The Day Shall Declare It was presented site-specifically in Downtown Los Angeles in a disused engine shop at Imperial Studios, for a sold-out seven week run in spring 2015.
“It takes you to a world both within and far beyond your own. It’s haunting, magical and beautifully crafted, something that must be experienced to be experienced.” LA Weekly
“Dazzling…athletic vigor and grace.” Los Angeles Times
“The next big aesthetic for Los Angeles theatre.” Bitter Lemons
“The best immersive performance to hit LA so far.” No Proscenium
The Day Shall Declare It is an immersive, site-specific, experiential theatre installation that explores the concept of work: both what it means to us and what it does to us. Based on multiple plays and stories by Tennessee Williams, and interviews from Studs Terkel’s Working, text is interwoven with dynamic and visceral choreography which speaks to the subtext of each story.
Produced in partnership with Los Angeles Performance Practice and by special arrangement with The University of the South. Created with support from Theatre Delicatessen and the Bush Theatre, London. Special thanks to Imperial Art Studios.
