Chinese New Year Wonderbox Prototype

Here is a video of our prototype for a Chinese New Year Wonderbox, which we are building in my art maker courses this month. We’re teaching lower school children how to create an art wonderbox, then bring it to life by adding lights and motion. We’ll also make a handmade cardboard switch to turn them on and off. Children can pick one of twelve animals from the Chinese Zodiac, using laser-cut wood figures as a framework to build on. It’s a great way to show them the basic principles of electricity and circuits, in a playful way that makes science more fun.
