THE COLLECTION: PERRET SCHAAD ́s designs are a tribute to the city, elegance, movement and versatility.
This Autumn/Winter 2016-17, the designers aim to capture the changing mood of an urban autumn, between warmth and style.
Reflecting the contrasting cityscape, the palette mixes heavy greys, rich tones and cool pastels. Fluid transitions define the subtle yet elegant look and are highlighted by metallic accents and a strong orange, echoing the modern facades of the city.
In this collection, PERRET SCHAAD play with different textures by combining favorite materials with new ones.
Silk Crêpe de Chine and Wool Georgette meet a papery gold silk and a waxed raincoat surface, while furry soft angora is knitted to a matter wool. Classical elements such as check and stripes are interpreted in a new way, accompanied by graphic embellishments created with bead and thread.
Well-worked silhouettes that show both precision and nonchalance form the core of this season’s collection.
The designers remain faithful to aesthetics that are defined by a sophisticated, uncomplicated look.
Creating and blending subtle elements that achieve distinctive effects, PERRRET SCHAAD dedicate this collection to independent-minded women that like to dress feminine, deliberate and unique.
THE DESIGNERS: PERRET SCHAAD was established in 2009 by Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad.
Over the past 5 years, PERRET SCHAAD has developed a unique, wearable, yet outstanding wardrobe for cool, modern women. The idea that every piece of a collection should last beyond its season and be reinterpreted and recombined
over years lead to PERRET SCHAAD’s uncompromising commitment to quality.
The choice of valuable quality fabrics, mostly sourced in Switzerland and Italy, with unique fluidity and tactility, paired with high quality processing in Germany enables the designers to maintain constantly high standards.
PERRET SCHAAD has been staying true to their belief in precise cuts, sharp, yet sensual silhouettes, and modern shapes and volumes. It is this conceptional and stylistic commitment that allows outfits to effortlessly combine and become timeless companions to their wearer. The resulting look is complete—feminist and elegant, disciplined and free.

THE SHOW: HELLWEG Yorckstrasse is one of Berlin’s most centrally located hardware stores. PERRET SCHAAD
chose this uncommon show location for the presentation of their Fall/Winter 2016-17 collection for multiple reasons.
The building’s massive size, its long visual axes, and its tall ceiling heights are fascinating. Its beauty is not obvious, but rather well hidden in its functional aesthetics and generous, evenly lit spaces.
The hardware store is a place of everyday life. It is far from being the white canvas that is most often used as a backdrop for fashion presentations. PERRET SCHAAD likes to make use of such spaces that are available in the environment of the city.
The overall concept of a hardware store is rather inspiring: It does not provide premade solutions, but rather offers a wide range of resources. It is an invitation to experiment and to have fun with materials, qualities, haptics and colors. In the end it is always up to the user to create something new.
