220km of packrafting on two different rivers over 2-3 days. January 2016.
Right after the New Zealand packrafting meet-up, a group of 7 of us headed off to paddle the Clarence and Acheron Rivers. The Clarence is the 8th longest river in NZ and is one of the countries most popular wilderness river journeys. Our trip started with an epic hitch-hiking mission up a small dirt road near Hamner Springs. From there we packrafted our way down the Acheron River until it spilled into the Clarence, where we continued paddling until we reached the pacific ocean over 200km later.
