It was a great turnout during a Bicycle Rodeo in Santee (January 30, 2016). Watch our video to see all the fun.
Deputies from the Santee Sheriff's Station emphasized the importance of wearing a properly fitted helmet. Children were also reminded if their tires are properly inflated, their seats adjusted and their brakes are working before riding. Another tip, seen and be seen. Wear bright colored clothing so you are visible on the road. A lesson the street signs and hand signals were also given before the kids were allowed to ride along a bicycle course with a Sheriff's Deputy. Deputies escorted the kids through the course to point out hazards and rules of the road. For more safety tips, visit sdsheriff.net/crimeprevention.
