Many ICG schools have created stellar "Tenets of Faculty Excellence" or like models to encourage growth, establish expectations, and recognize great teaching. And yet, these models are typically static (reviewed every few years by a faculty committee), and thus not reflective of changes in educational best practice. Moreover, some models speak to baseline expectations rather than be aspirational, and thus fail to encourage substantive faculty growth. The Online School for Girls has created a model that is different. We review expectations annually, to update our expectations to align with emerging practice. And, we have moved to a competency-based model to imitate the approach we are encouraging for evaluation in our classrooms, and to view progress along a continuum rather than as a static set of goals. Participants in this webinar will learn how this approach works to continually inspire faculty growth and reinforce a growth mindset to teaching and learning.
