Birds in flight
To go away, leave everything behind, emigrate to another land. The dream land. The welcoming land whose wealth holds out its hand to us. Those who exile themselves from their native soil, which has become too inhospitable, too dangerous, have a perpetual story to tell: that of migrant travelers, eternal strangers, forced to risked their lives in the quest for another place that they believe to be better. These migrants, they are the people who climb barbed wire fences, walk hours, days under a blazing sun, quench their thirst with raindrops, sleep on train station platforms, build themselves makeshift shelters and who, every day, find different ways to pretend to live. These are the people who live their lives in exile, with, as their only baggage, the hope for a better life.
