Giving thanks for food dates back to Biblical times. In Matthew 14:19, we read, “And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.” When you sit down to eat, take the opportunity to stop for a moment and consider the blessings of family, fellowship and gratitude for the abundance God has provided. These simple blessing add spirit to every meal.
