[SSMF 2011 set for August 18, 19 & 20!]
The third annual Sunset Strip Music Festival took over The Sunset Strip Aug. 26-28, 2010. The three-day fest kicked off with a tribute to legendary guitarist Slash at the House of Blues.
The Strip's signature music venues hosted full lineups all three nights, including performances by P.O.D., Beth Hart Band (Whisky A Go-Go); Nico Vega, Unwritten Law, Y&T (Key Club), Kix, The Head Cat (House of Blues); Filter, The Expendables (The Roxy Theatre); Golden State, The Outline (Cat Club); Warner Drive, Purple Melon, Ceci Bastida (Viper Room).
SSMF culminated in a street festival on Saturday, Aug. 28, with two outdoor stages, performances in the venues, a beer garden, autograph tent, VIP rooftop lounge and interactive experiences throughout the day.
The Smashing Pumpkins, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and Fergie, Common, Kid Cudi, Travie McCoy, Semi Precious Weapons, Neon Trees, Steel Panther, Big B and Saint Motel performed on the outdoor stages and the venues featured performances from more than 70 bands, including Nikki & Rich, Oh No Not Stereo, Adler's Appetite and Vanaprasta.
