Photographer Cameron McNee makes his directorial debut with his film ‘skater'.
Coming from a world of still images McNee has a talent for making beautiful compositions, harnessing golden light and casting a youthful character, but this moving piece goes beyond still images by bringing the ‘skater’ to life and gives us a message to take away.
McNee uses the moving image and music of Esmeralda Conde Ruiz to paint a portrait of a young man entering adulthood. Full of confusion the subject uses his passion for roller skating to sort through the pain and anger to find redemption.
