Over the past several months I've been working on a documentary short (providing stills + some minimal videography) spearheaded by Yellowknife's aRTLeSS meDia and commissioned by BHP Billiton Canada.

The documentary - titled "The Drum" - sought to capture traditional Dene drum-making skills, which is currently only done by a shrinking number of people (mainly elders) in Canada's Northwest Territories.

Here's the result of that collaboration: it was a project I was proud to be part of, and I'm really happy with the result. Stay tuned for the next installment, due out in the next several months, which documents traditional Inuit knowledge in Kugluktuk, Nunavut (Inuit sealskin mitt-making).
