Here is an 11-minute film of the highlights of the first graduating class of the Southwestern Seminary at Darrington Penitentiary in Rosharon, Texas. This is an historic event in Texas history, and warranted a special visit from Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and the Dean of the Texas Senate, Senator John Whitmire, as well as the Executive Director of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Mr. Brad Livingston, and the President of Southwestern Seminary, Dr. Paige Patterson. All of the graduates were subsequently deployed to seven Texas prisons to begin serving our their lengthy prison sentences as newly appointed "Field Ministers." The Heart of Texas Foundation contributors provide the key financial support, guidance, development, through private funding, for the ongoing operation of Seminary, and also provides funding for the support of the Field Ministers as they are deployed to their respective remote prisons. In a few years, God willing, we will have Seminary graduate inmates serving 100% of all the incarcerated men in all of the 95 men's prisons in Texas.
