“Passing” looks at landscape through the eye of a drone flying very low to the ground. Fallen autumn leaves on the forest floor are blown upwards and then descend in lyrical tumbles filmed in slow motion. Within what appears to be a fairly straight forward recording of this action is the insertion of re-drawn leaves where I have traced over the movement of some of the individual leaves frame by frame and repositioned them throughout the video footage. These animated leaves hover, repeat, hide, and dance in the frame of the ‘natural’. One is not sure if you are seeing them or not as they float up and flit by.
