Silent Wind, study number [2]: Linear patterns, is part of a research process by Paola Tognazzi about how to transform textile and modular patterns into dynamically shape shifting ones, by creating connections between the rotations of the modules with the ones of the body.
This series is based on three algorithmic landscapes simulations. The project revolves around the deconstruction and manipulation of the coding parameters of rotation and spatial directions, in order to show the possible evolution of the modular pattern's systems, if connected to the dynamics of a body. Each results having its own dynamics, visual components and effects. Movement directions, space, time and perception are the key elements of this exploration. They overlap the physical and the virtual, blurring the links between space and movement and the boundaries between what is real and what is perceived.
