Piemonte is a very traditional place. You don't find Cabernet here. Rather you see the same grape varieties that have existed and given pleasure for centuries. The world is now in love with Nebbiolo. We are only beginning to flirt with the two other grapes that the Piemontese drink day to day: Barbera and Dolcetto.
Dolcetto translates as the little sweet one and this is because the grapes are simply bursting with fruit. They create a forward and generous wine for easy drinking under any conditions. When made well, they create something much more special.
This is a special reserve produced in very limited quantity from the Dolcetto grapes of a single vineyard. The vineyard itself is only one hectare and so less than 500 cases are made in a given year. Therefore we only have 24 sixpacks to sell. We did have 25, but I drank one. Sorry.
