Domaine de l’Amaurigue is a beautiful estate and family-owned winery by the Dutch family De Groot, situated in the heart of Provence. The 40 hectare (99 acre) vineyard is surrounded by 110 hectares (270 acres) of woods and hills, offering the vines rare protection. The exceptional soil, composed of clay and chalk, allows full expression of the flavors of the different varieties: Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignan for the rosés; Rolle for the white; and Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah for the red.
The modern wine cellar is designed to work mainly by gravity, preserving the quality of the grapes by avoiding pumping. Vinification also includes thermo-regulated steel tanks and oak barrels. Throughout the winemaking process done by the talented Jean Marie Quef , the domaine’s working philosophy is to preserve the authenticity and natural aromatic taste of its Provençal grapes. Vines are grown with respect for the environment, following the principles of sustainable agriculture.
In this unique terroir, the domaine produces top-quality, award-winning Provence wines. Lovers of great Provence wines will discover in l’Amaurigue wines the joy of authentic and unique wines.
