This was filmed at the launch of Generation ART: Young Artists on Tour, at the second point of the tour - New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, and Soft Touch Arts, Leicester. The exhibition celebrates artwork made by children and young people from across England, chosen by open submission.
This film focusses on the work of Mellor Community School in Leicester. Here students discuss how they were inspired in different ways by the music to express what they heard on paper in lots of different ways, and how happy and proud they are to see their work on show.
Run by engage, the National Association for Gallery Education the project is supported by Arts Council England’s Strategic touring programme, the Garfield Weston Foundation and the Helen Jean Cope Charity. Generation ART launched at Turner Contemporary, Margate in June 2015, before touring to New Walk Museum and Art Gallery and Soft Touch Arts in Leicester, and Quay Arts on the Isle of Wight in 2016.
