How can we actually help the poor? How should Christians think about poverty? Should we do disaster relief? And What about mission trips? Is meeting just the physical needs enough? And Which charities can we even trust? These are valid questions. Maybe you ask these questions, too. So how Can we actually help the poor?
First, local partnerships are key to actually transforming lives in poor communities. Empowering local leaders to find solutions to their own problems addresses the root causes of poverty--bringing spiritual and physical healing to the poor. Research and evaluation are just as important because throwing money at an issue usually causes more harm than good. Accurate research data is vital to ensure that the projects you support are sustainable, Christ-centered, and effective.
So how can you help the poor? When you give to ARDF, you partner with local Anglican leaders who are already ministering to the poor in their own communities. Together, we provide the resources and the research they need to be effective, so you can know that every dollar you give is actually helping the poor.
