A heterogeneous mob of individuals bury their delusion in the quirky decorum of a funeral march, trying to fit ill-assorted attires, in attempts to fit in a flock that struggles to name itself.
Fit/Misfit was premiered at Montpellier «Mouvements sur la ville» festival 2013, before touring for the next three years in Mexico, USA, Germany, Brazil, Switzerland and Ireland.
The piece was born from the cheerful encounter between Iseli-Chiodi Dance Company, Lux Boreal dance company from Tijuana (Mexico) and Cork-based band Horsemen pass by and the work is being created during an exchange of residencies in Ireland, Mexico and France.
Fit/Misfit investigates our abilities and ways to react to a new environment in a manner that suits our identities: attempts to restore some of that sense of belonging we crave for.
The music score, including original tracks and live guitar by Horsemen Pass By, brings the cinematic approach and referenced sounds of the band, tinted with Spaghetti-Western-like ambiances.
