I was having a lot of balance trouble with a single tripod holding up my slider, so I decided to look for a more stable support. I was looking to buy 2 light stands, which were about $20 each, but then I found this adjustable sawhorse for $38 on ebay. So I decided to go for it.
I like being able to fold it up and use it on the ground, which I wouldn't be able to do with 2 light stands on each side. It's nearly the same length as my 1 meter slider. There are many things you can use to secure it. I just used some cheap c-clamps. It also has a handle for carrying on the side, which is nice because it's pretty heavy.
Many thanks to Emm over at cheesycam.com/ for the inspiration.
