It's the story of a building and an industry that it was created to manufacture - Tobacco goods. It is an example of an indulgence in the fashion of Art Deco that was cruelly municipalised by Camden Council.
The Black Cat Factory as it came to be called was publicly stripped of its former grandeur and forced to wear the garb of a council austere rubbish look. That was until 48 million was splurged on the old gal and she was restored to her former glory, reunited with her pals the Kitties and hey presto! And that's how you make a profit of 97 million pounds sterling.
Marvellous we can all rest easy until the next make-over.
