DigiQuilt is a manipulative-based design environment for children to design patchwork quilt blocks and learn about fractions and symmetry in the process. I have been the lead designer of this (freely available) software since development began in about 2001. I created this video for the 2010 Learning Challenge sponsored by Disney Research. The software won an award for Outstanding Educational Impact in the competition. This video is especially useful for understanding the animations we use to highlight equivalency of fractions and to show different quilts with the same coverage.
