All the traveling and hunting for shots we timelapse shooters do. Assembling a video is a form of catharsis and a way to purge our selves for new adventures and reimagining places we have visited many times before and will continue to visit in the future. Its a way for us to travel into the past as some locations are always changing and some don't exist anymore.
These timelapse sequences were shot on a couple of Nikon D810 DSLRs using Nikon and Ziess lenses. The place that I was referring to as not existing anymore was the CARMA array that use to be located in the White Mountains. They lost their funding so the radio telescopes lost their home. It was something very sad to hear as it was one of my favorite places to go that was open to the public and the people working there were nice enough to let myself and others shoot timelapse there over the years. Some of the other locations in the video range from LA to NY, the Eastern Sierras, Utah and Arizona.
