During a recent visit to my hometown in Pennsylvania, I attempted to capture the recent changes taking place due to numerous new drilling operations. Drilling sites are popping up everywhere in the NE region of the state with the goal of extracting natural gas from a layer of rock one mile beneath the surface called Marcellus Shale. Millions of dollars are coming into the area. Landscapes are changing, and for better or worse, local towns are on the verge of a transformation. This short video attempts to convey a sense of the country I remember growing up in and transitions into what this new era of drilling looks like.
