Nosotras, an acclaimed women’s ensemble from the Bay Area, returns to Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana (MACLA) for a night filled with music and dance from Latin America. The sophisticated and uplifting group performs works from Peru to Mexico, Cuba to Bolivia and beyond. Founded in 2007 originally to raise money for Peruvian earthquake victims, Nosotras continues to inspire and promote the important role of women in the arts.
And be sure to bring your cajón, dance shoes and handkerchiefs as Nosotras will be teaching cajón (percussion), zapateado (footwork) and pañuelo (handkerchief) work between sets!
