In 2008, I flew to Guatemala City and hitchhiked to Mexico City. I borrowed my girlfriend at the times Leica D-Lux 4 and took a bunch of random video and photos. One morning, stoned and underslept, I was in a van from Quetzaltenango to the Mexican border and San Cristobal beyond. Our van slowed and luckily I just thought it'd be cool to video what I thought was a small parade. It went on forever, and it's so detailed, it's like Wes Anderson produced it. If anyone knows Wes Anderson, tell him I'd like to work with him. Anyhoodles, I've always thought it was awesome, and even though I've never edited the footage, which includes our van catching on fire in the Oaxacan mountains, a German hitchhiker named Hanz, and drinking mezcal in DF with Floyd Landis, this clip stands alone. Blow it up to big screen, there's so much happening.
