"Yesterday was the last day of filming, photographing, and interviewing the homeless after four long days of hard work.
I will leave New Jersey with proof. Proof of life. Proof of life that no bureaucracy can delay. Proof of these people and their stories, fictitious or not, but real to them. Proof that these people were at one point alive, for tomorrow they may be gone.
Proof that poverty in America is real. American poverty. Proof too, that there is light in the darkest of places; that happiness and hope can rise up out of these dark alley ways and find guidance. Proof that smiles make a difference, and that the little things are the big things.
And perhaps, proof that what we need is less proof, and more faith in each other. "
