Part #2 of a three-part digital series on one of the first women to graduate from Ranger school.
Major Lisa Jaster, 37, a Reservist from Houston, Texas, received her coveted Ranger Tab on October 16, 2015 after spending 180 days in the combat leadership course that takes 62 days if completed in one attempt.
Jaster was among 19 women who began Ranger School in April as part of an assessment to see how women would fare in the notoriously difficult school. Sixteen women quickly were dropped from the course, but three – Jaster, along with 26 year old Capt. Kristen Griest and 25 year old 1st Lt. Shaye Haver – remained and graduated the school.
