Composition for two pianos and two vibraphones by Lee Weisert (2016).
"An Album of Fluid Motion" explores phenomena described in Milton Van Dyke's seminal book of the same title. Various fluid motion types are sonified and superimposed and/or juxtaposed to create a narrative structure. Symmetrical all-interval pitch sets are used to derive harmonic and melodic content, reflecting the highly dispersed, entropic nature of fluid motion. Sectional divisions refer to chapter titles from Van Dyke's book: Vortices, Turbulence, Separation/Instability, Laminar Flow, Shock Waves.
