A Murmuration of Light is an immersive piece of digital nature, a sculpture made with light. It was made by Dan Arnold and Rich Clements during the MORPHOS residency in the Autumn of 2015 at the planetariums in the Denver Museum of Science and Nature and the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery in Colorado, USA. The piece draws influences from flocking birds, shoaling fish, phosphorescence and the ever changing forms that are part of the interconnected mesh that we are all part of. The sound is taken directly from a dawn chorus we recorded in Cornwall, sections multi-layered as the narrative develops and the murmuration breaks out of the urban framework and moves through infinite 3D space.
This is the dome master, a distorted spherical image that when projected in a dome becomes 3D.
