Wynde Dyer, a Portland-based artist and owner of a social-justice oriented cab company has been letting residents of Hazelnut Grove come to her house to take showers/ baths, use the internet, charge phones, and share meals, almost every Sunday since the start of the year. She has helped residents of the homeless camp find employment, and currently has been working on an art project she calls Sharing the Scraps, through which she is awarding micro-grants to residents who make aid her in making quilts out of tarp, which she uses as a juxtaposition of life and poverty.
Please join her at the grand opening of her exhibition at Stumptown on Division on Sunday, March 27th
