The Urban Assault bike race held Sunday in Madison was a hoot to watch. Starting from Olin Park, participants scattered across the city, lighting out via routes of their choosing for a series of checkpoints at which they had to perform some sort of wacky task in order to be cleared by the judges to proceed to the next checkpoint. Teams of two had the option to stop at each checkpoint in any order they chose. Here at the west-side Trek bicycles store, that task was bicycle limbo: Both members of each two-person team had to ride their bikes under a crossbar not once, not twice but three times -- the bar set lower and lower each time.
