Textual passages from "Pedro Páramo" (1955) by Juan Rulfo. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedro_Paramo
Shot on location in Mineral de Pozos, Guanajuato, Mexico.
As friends visited an indigenous musical instruments store in Mineral de Pozos' lovely Plaza Zaragoza on 9 October 2010, I decided to "let go" and wander around with my Canon 7D for 10 minutes. Little did I know, I would find myself recalling passages from one of my favorite Mexican novels, "Pedro Páramo" by Juan Rulfo, as i photographed. Echoes of Rulfo's words filled my imagination as much as the town's dusty streets.
Once a silver mining center, Mineral de Pozos had become a ghost town. Today it is a quiet home to artists, creatives and tourists from nearby San Miguel de Allende.

Finally, I consider this a work of digital storytelling that relies heavily on a literary work of narrative, a digital video-photographic study, and a wonderful music composition.
This film is dedicated to Patricia Platt and Evita Avery.
