The BUBBLEHEADS, a mobile public artwork built by Eric Staller. This bicycle is built for 4 riders, each dressed in black and wearing a sphere covered with 200 computerized lights.
The animation of the lights gives the impression that heads are revolving, first clockwise, then counter-clockwise, as if communicating in an alien language. Staller has exhibited BUBBLEHEADS in New York, Boston, Montreal, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Nagoya. The effect on people is always the same: mouths fall open in astonishment.
