Street Fit Scotland is a health, fitness and well-being programme of activities Please visit streetfitscotland.org that aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness for people who are living in homeless accommodation. Including individuals in recovery either in the community or who are in drug rehabilitation programmes. Our guiding principle is to meet people wherever they are in their lives.
We deliver comprehensive indoor fitness classes at local gyms. We deliver outdoor fitness camps in the summer and we hold various workshops that include confidence building and raising aspirations. We want people to be “Street Fit for life”. The fitness classes are all run by professional personal trainers.
We improve the atmosphere where individuals live and work by offering a shared experience with peers, staff and volunteers who work with socially disadvantaged groups. We aim to reduce social isolation by offering a consistent health, fitness and well-being programme that individuals can easily access. We offer a safe environment that involves group work centred on relationship building. We improve social skills, confidence and self-esteem through group participation
We invest in our participants by encouraging them to become peer mentors and become positive role models in their communities. We offer a healthier lifestyle opportunity through physical fitness to build strength, courage and resilience.
Our mission statement is “Inspiring others to Inspire each other”
