A short film that I shot with a Nikon D7000 as a video test - completely ungraded footage. I shot some photos at this place years ago when I stumbled upon it while I was in college. I have always had it in the back of my head to revisit it.
After doing some research, it looks like this motel was finished being built in the 1930's, and presently is a gem of textures, decay, and general creepiness. I will definitely be returning with better glass.
This was my first day shooting video with the D7000, and so far I am pretty impressed. I need to get the exposure dialed in a bit more on some shots, but overall, it turned out pretty good. The panning and tilting is choppy, and has been made worse by vimeo's encoding, but works ok with this... This was shot with a Nikon Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX. I think that the results will be even better with some pro quality glass, and when I get the exposure settings nailed. Speaking of nailed:
